Guide for players planing to join ANCL
Structure
In the ANCL, teams may consist of up to 12 players, with 6 players being selected for each match. One member of each team serves as a team captain (see Captain). The team captain is responsible for setting up their team. Captains are allocated a quota of 34 points for their team per week (see Team Points Allocation).
ANCL games are rated 90 minutes games, with a further 5 seconds per move. This is referred to as 90+5.
How to join-requirements
Rule 2 describes the requirements :
All participants in the ANCL must have a full Playchess account (including a serial number), 20 slow games and a rank of knight or higher. Any player who has previously been found using assistance in rated games will be refused entrance to participate in the ANCL league.
How to join-registration
On the website
Click on the "Register!" link on the top of the page and a new window opens that has the registration form:
You enter your informations and click register.You will be informed via e-mail when your registration is approved or rejected within a maximum 48 hours. Do not forget your password, you will need it if your registration request is approved.
The registration process takes 2 minutes. Please register with your playchess username. If you register with some other username you may get deleted by the administrators.
Seeking a team
After you registered you have to log into the forum using the same username and password you registered with.
and make a topic in the "Player seeking Team" forum.
Making a topic in the "Player seeking Team" forum:
- First, click on the forum "Player seeking Team". Once you have entered this forum you will be able to see all the topics in it. Next, click on the "New Topic" button.
A new window appears:
Your post needs a title (subject) and in the message body you give your playchess username, your slow rating and anything else you think is important in order to get hired by a captain. When done, click on submit. When a captain wants you as a member of his/her team he/she will contact you by posting a reply on the forum or by chat on the playchess server.
