Introduction

Welcome to the All Nations Chess League (ANCL). The aim of this introduction is to give a brief history of the ANCL and also to tell you the benefits that being a part of this great network of players can bring, which includes the formation of close bonds with your team members through the creative game of chess.

The ANCL is the only online chess league. It was formed in 2005 by Sarah Shannon, Ben Hobson and Alexander Hewitt, with the intention of bringing many players together from throughout the world that have one thing in common, the enjoyment of chess. The many benefits of the ANCL are apparent when you become a part of it, but the main ones are making new friends from an international community of chess players and the opportunity to find different opponents at a classical time control.
